Next summer, Ballinger Shakespeare Company, established in 2025, and devoted to bringing free summer programming to the Lake Ballinger area in Edmonds, Washington, and beyond, will present A Midsummer Night’s Dream <\/em>by William Shakespeare at Mathay-Ballinger Park<\/a>. Bring a picnic and your family. We’ll see you there!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Midsummer Night’s Dream <\/strong>
<\/strong>Director: Will be announced soon! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plot:<\/strong> In A Midsummer Night\u2019s Dream<\/em>, Shakespeare stages the workings of love. Theseus and Hippolyta, about to marry, are figures from mythology. In the woods outside Theseus\u2019s Athens, two young men and two young women sort themselves out into couples\u2014but not before they form first one love triangle, and then another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also in the woods, the king and queen of fairyland, Oberon and Titania, battle over custody of an orphan boy; Oberon uses magic to make Titania fall in love with a weaver named Bottom, whose head is temporarily transformed into that of a donkey by a hobgoblin or \u201cpuck,\u201d Robin Goodfellow. Finally, Bottom and his companions ineptly stage the tragedy of \u201cPyramus and Thisbe.\u201d — From Folger Shakespeare Library<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
